What we collect
- Your mobile number (for sign-up + login)
- Optional profile details: full name, email (captured at checkout for receipts)
- Listings you post, including photos and location (suburb — never a full address)
- Messages you send to other users on Gidla
- Payments made for listing promotions
- Basic device info (IP, browser) for security + abuse prevention
How we keep your number private
Your phone number is used only to sign you in. It is never shown to other users. Renters contact advertisers via in-app messaging on Gidla.
Your rights under POPIA
- Access — download your data any time from your Account page.
- Erasure — delete your account and all associated personal data from the same page.
- Correction — edit your listings or contact us to fix anything else.
How long we keep things
We retain active listings, messages, and payment records until you delete your account. Phone-verification records are purged after 30 days. Financial records tied to paid promotions may be retained anonymised for up to 5 years for accounting purposes.
